Certification or affixing an apostille represents the legalization of the document by the country in which this document was issued. Such a document does not need any additional legalization in the countries that are parties to the Convention on the Abolition of the Requirement for Legalization of Foreign Public Acts (the so-called Hague Convention).

Affixing an “Apostille” certificate certifies the authenticity of the signature, the quality or position of the person who signed and the authenticity of the stamp placed on the document.

The apostille does NOT certify the content of the document.
